Youth Theater Workshop
Our Youth Theater Workshop offers a friendly, labor intensive program that exposes students from Pre-K through 8th grade to the wonderful world of theatre! We align our programs with the practices used in the Illinois Learning Standards.
Your youth will...
- Be taught the basics of theater production
- Learn how to turn popular stories into written scripts
- Analyze scripts, scenes and characters
- Learn how to memorize lines
- Engage social skills during the rehearsal process
- Participate in journaling projects related to the script
- Read the script and related materials on a daily basis
We offer 3 types of Youth Theater Workshops
Understudy Workshop
This 1 day, 4 hour workshop is designed for the organization that just wants to offer their youth a simple introduction to theater
Supporting Workshop
This 1 day per week for up to 6 weeks is more intensive allowing the youth time to get more in depth theater production and allows for scene analysis.
Leading Workshop
This workshop is offered 2 - 4 days per week for up to 8 weeks. Here is where students learn more about theater production and are given the opportunity to engage in script writing.
The culmination of each workshop will be a full theaterical production by your youth, followed by an awards ceremony. Each workshop is designed with your specific program in mind to make this an extended learning process for your youth.
We invite you to schedule a meeting with our New Branch Workshop Coordinator to discuss how we can introduce your Youth to Theater.
